Rainy days and Sundays

Sihanoukville in the rain has been quite a blast this year.

Top Cat movie theater is doing well, Fortuna casino, Q&A Bookstore, Boom Boom Room, Monkey Republic, and Utopia have all been doing very well, despite several rainy days.

Utopia's putting in a swimming pool, and has forgone it's free rooms for nicer $2 dorm rooms. The crowd during the summer is much mellower than in the winter.

Motorcycle rentals have been doing well, as there's not been a crackdown lately (tourist driving without a Cambodian driver's licence).

The area around Beach Road, Ocheteaul Beach and Serendipity has become the place to be recently. Most places have dropped their prices a bit, as the town won't be full again for another few months.

Other than that, not much new.

Backpacker News

Utopia just had another full moon party. Seem to have them about every month.
Relief for Otres beach. They were due to have construction there, but everything remains. Still one of the hardest to get to, (and nicest) beaches in town.
Independence Beach is gone for now (except for Independence Hotel guests and in front of SeaBreeze guesthouse). Construction.

Room prices have been going up recently, and will probably stay up until the end of April, after Khmer New Year.
